What is the colon and why is it important? The colon or large intestine refers to the last 5-6 feet of the digestive tract. The primary function of the colon is to eliminate toxins and wastes from the body which is imperative for the absorption of vital nutrients. There are four main pathways for toxins to leave the body: the skin, lungs, large intestines, and the urinary tract. As our world is becoming more environmentally polluted, water less pure, food less nutritious, and stress levels increased, the colon plays a more significant role in helping the body detoxify. Toxins in the body may stress our immune system and be the source of health problems and degenerative diseases. What is colon hydrotherapy and what is a session like? Colon hydrotherapy is the gentle purified water washing of the large intestines. In using the most comfortable, safe, equipment on the market, The LIBBE, you will be in complete charge of your session. You are covered at all times and your session is odor free. You may choose to have a colon hydrotherapist in the room with you for abdominal massage, foot reflexology, or reiki to support your elimination, OR you can choose to have your session in solitude. Sessions last about 45 minutes; although you should plan for an hour and a half for your first session and an hour for subsequent sessions. What equipment is used for colon hydrotherapy? Our equipment is FDA approved. We feel that it is the most comfortable equipment on the market. You insert your own rectal tube (which is smaller than the size of a pencil) two inches into the rectum. A certified colon hydrotherapist is available to give you abdominal massage, foot reflexology, or reiki to enhance your session, or you may chose to have you session in solitude. Sessions last 30-45 minutes. You will receive 30 minutes of warm filtered water followed by a wash of acidophilus and bifidus which you hold for 2-5 minutes. Plan on giving yourself 1.5 hours for your first session. Subsequent sessions will have you here for about an hour. |
